Saturday Morning…

Since it is early Saturday morning and I am not exactly sure how my day will turn out yet, I will talk about some other stuff going on in my corner of the world. It is like 7:39am  now, so the sun is just trying to come up and I see this occurrence everyday, but I am always still amazed by how beautiful it really is.

Lately we have been having car trouble. Well, it started last Saturday and Doug had to borrow his cousin’s car to go to work on Monday, but got something fixed Monday afternoon. Last night we were on our way out and it would not start. I think that when he had the lights on he turned the interior lights on and left those on all day and most of the night. So we had to call AAA to get a jump. Good times.

It is very chilly here today, I have the windows open because I love the cool weather. It is not hot enough to have the air on nor cool enough yet to have the heat on during the day. It is rather nice though.

I think that today I will be catching up on my DVR shows since I have been totally addicted to Netflix on the Wii. Now you don’t even need a disk, win! I just downloaded the Netflix channel from the Wii shop channel for free. One day, I will use my Wii for what it was bought for in the first place, Wii Fit. LOL.

Well, I think that this is it for my Saturday morning. Ciao!

Friday

I needed a few days to recover from the Friend of the Court day. Even though when I go there I always know that I have been doing what I am supposed to do and what they tell me to do, it is still very stressful for me. These days usually involve losing a lot of sleep and being stressed out beyond the breaking point. So, I took a couple of days off to relax and to catch up on my sleep once again.

It has been kind of hectic around here because of Doug’s strange schedule this last week. Normally he goes into work between 2am and 4am depending on the day. Since they had inventory he had to be there at 11pm one day and midnight the last couple of days. So that can really mess up the sleeping pattern!

A side from the freakish and hellish winds here Monday and Tuesday, the rest of the week has been cool and sometimes overcast. I love fall because of the cool weather. So, I have been happy. Since I live on the 8th floor, it has been strange to deal with things such as wind and rain.

We are headed to dinner in a bit to see a friend of ours. Yeah it is late, but she works the late shift now, so it is all good. I think that is about it, I should be back pretty regular now. Ciao!

Yesterday

Yesterday I had to be at Friend of the Court (child support) at 9:30am. Since Doug had to work inventory and had to be at work early, I just stayed up. He got home about 5am and I took a small nap.

I hate going to FOC. So, I went and spoke to my referee, who was surprised that I was called in because I have been making payments every month like I am supposed to. She told me it was Florida’s fault after looking at the file closer. Before this, I got paperwork in the mail to modify the child support down. Which I have filled out and now have to make an appointment with Rita.

When I got the paperwork I called her to find out what was going on. She told me and so I need to make an appointment to see her. This is a great thing. I was so exhausted yesterday. Well, I think that is about it. My Wii is calling…. Ciao!

Today, A Day in My Life

Today was one of those days that I have not gotten a lot of sleep. Honestly, the last few days have seen very little sleep. Somewhat caused my my new found addiction to Netflix on my Wii. I never realized what a totally life altering thing this could really be. I thought it would be cool to be able to watch movies instantly on my TV from Netflix while I waited for my other DVDs to show up in the mail.

Oh what I tangled web I weave. I set this up before my birthday last Wednesday, which is why I have been MIA basically. I have found so many TV series that I totally loved on the instant watch and have been steadily devouring those. At first it was Eureka. I had not seen the beginning of the series and so I got seasons 1-3.5 on the instant watch and started watching. Soon, that became all I watched! That little show is amazingly funny and smart.

So, then I found Silk Stalkings, which was on USA in the 90’s. Since I do not remember how that show began because I did not see the first couple of seasons, I added those too and have been watching those.

My latest addiction however is not a show that I had seen before, Veronica Mars. OMG, I never guessed that I would have fallen in love with a show about a teenaged sleuth and her high school life. But I did. There is only three seasons of this on the instant watch and I am on the third season. So, the love affair will end soon. Hopefully so will the addiction. We will see. Ciao!

Wow… and Birthday

Happy_BirthdayI had to update my Live Writer yesterday and this is the first chance I have gotten to use the 2011 version. All I have to say is wow. It looks so much like MS Word, but for my blog! I am going to have to play with it of course and see what this baby can do! LOL.

Today is my birthday, happy birthday to me! There have been some things going on, so that is why I have not been here lately. I will be back to posting normally soon though. School stuff is killing me! I will explain it all soon, I promise. Ciao!

Anniversary and Birthday

Tonight Doug and I are celebrating our five (5) year anniversary of being together. It has not always been easy being here ( that is an UNDERSTATEMENT!!!). I have also been in Michigan for five years as well. He is taking me back to Ruth Chris tonight for dinner and I am really looking forward to it! Our anniversary is actually on Monday, but since our weekday schedule will not allow for this kind of night out, we are doing it tonight instead. I don’t really care anyway.

My birthday is two days after our anniversary (Wednesday the 20th). I will be 36. I am still not sure how I feel about this, but since it will happen even if I am not happy about it, I might as well accept it. It has been rough getting here really.

School is okay, I guess. There are some things going on that I can not write about yet there. Mainly because if I think about them too much I get really pissed off. I have a plan B in the works so we will see. Right now I have an 85% in my statistics class, so I am thrilled! Well, I am going to get going. Got some stuff to do today… Ciao!

I am feeling better than I have been for the last few days. Almost human again, I think. I am taking it easy still, but was missing posting here. Tonight is dinner at Trina’s as usual. My birthday is in 8 days and I am not sure how I feel about it. Well, I going to go lay back down. Ciao!

Pictures Coming Soon

I have pictures of the house, I just have to get them put into a slide show and post them here. I know I have been promising them for a while and I just got them taken the other day. School has been hectic with the statistics class. I have an 82% in that class right now, so I am thrilled!

Tomorrow starts the third week in that class. We are talking probability. I might start reading later just to get a head. My other class is going well too. It should I have already taken that class! LOL.

I want to thank all of  you who commented on my entry yesterday. Mr. Cannell was an amazing person and yes generous. We talked books, although I hated to admit that I had not read any of his! Talk about embarrassing! We talked about e-readers and TV. Since he produced many of my favorite TV shows in the 80s and 90s, we had a lot to talk about! We talked about the movie adaptation of the A-Team. I still have not seen it yet, but there were some casting things I did not understand.

I will miss him greatly! Well, I am going to go. Ciao!

A Sad Day in My Life

215-056-Stephen-J-CannellI know that to some of you this might not make a lot of sense, for that I am sorry. Stephen J. Cannell died over the weekend. This is normally not a big impact on my life, except with the power of Twitter, I actually got to have conversations with the man. Some of you might be wondering who I am talking about. He was the writer/producer in the 80’s and 90’s that had such hits such as A-Team, Hunter, 21 Jump Street, The Rockford Files, and The Commish to name a very few.

He had cancer and by talking to him over the last few months I had no idea. He never talked about it and you did not hear about it in the gossip news either. He was, to me a gracious man who took time out to chat with a big fan. He talked about his shows and his books with me. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was very smart.

I loved our conversations and looked forward to the next one. I will miss him because he was the driving force in TV of my youth. I know he is in a better place and he will be missed dearly. My prayers and thoughts of course go out to his family. Thank you Mr. Cannell for the years of wonderful TV shows. You can rest in peace now.

Almost to the Big 2-0-0

I noticed in my blog dashboard that I am almost to my 200th entry in this blog. Before this entry it was ten more to go. I am still in awe of this fact. It does not seem that long ago since I started this blog, but so much has happened to us since then!

As I approach the big 200, I am reflecting on where this blog was when I started it and where it is now. I might pull out some of the past entries and highlight some of them in the next few posts, I don’t know.

200 entries is a big deal. At least to me. I started from scratch with this blog and now it is pretty much what I wanted it to be, with the exception of the trolls who read this. But who cares about them, not me. Not really. They just drive my page stats up, so thank you. Ciao!

Friday Ramblings

I had stumbled upon a couple of gift cards from Bath and Body Works the other day as I was going through some of the boxes. I checked to see if they had money on them and to my surprise they did! I had like $23 between the two.

So, I needed some bubble bath because I now have a bath tub. That is what I used them for. They were having a buy 2 get 1 free sale, so I got two bubble bath in my favorite scent and a shower gel as well. What I need is the perfume in my favorite scent, which is warm vanilla sugar. It was like $25 I think, maybe for my birthday. I have had one bottle for a couple of years because it is so concentrated that you do not need much. Maybe 1-2 sprays and that is it.

I got those yesterday and this morning I had a bath. I am a happy camper now. Although I am having serious issues with statistics. Not the whole subject, but rather a small part. Finding the population variance. No matter how I try, I get that part of the problem wrong. I went to the online tutor yesterday and she showed me how to do it step by step. My brain is still not accepting it yet. Also, who ever decided that we needed to use Greek letters with math, yeah wonderful idea. (insert sarcasm here). I get so confused with those!

Somebody remind me why I had to pick the degree path that had the wacked out math and not the degree path with the business math class???? Seriously. I am determined to pass this class though. It will take a lot of work and I am up for the challenge, but I am not sleeping well again. Which sucks.

Yesterday was really bad. I was up like 45 minutes after we went to bed. I am not sure exactly what woke me up, but I was awake. Maybe for the best, the maintaince people here came by to switch out the light bulbs for the compact ones with DTE ( electric company for my non Michigan readers) When we got the thing on the door about this we went to the office to tell them that they were already here when we moved in. So they did not have to come to our apartment. They came anyway and I am thinking it was a good thing I was awake, because the guy had all the keys to the apartments to do this. Um, yeah, I tend to sleep in very little. It would have really freaked me out to hear this guy moving about when I was asleep.

I think that this is it for now. Back to math! Ciao!
